Maurer swivel joints
For medium to long span road traffic bridges
Nippon Chuzo supplies a range of elongation joints that allow omnidirectional movement. Designed for road traffic bridges with medium to long spans, these elongation joints consist of middle and end beams together with sealed rubber, where the middle beam is supported by a supporting beam and bearings, and provide maximum elongation travel anywhere from 160 mm (ES-160) to 1,200 mm (ES-1200). We can also design and produce custom elongation joints with travel longer than 1,200 mm.
For road bridges with elongation in all directions
The structural members that hold the middle beam and support beam are designed to slide and also rotate to enable tracking in all directions and provide elastic support in all directions.
Waterproof sealed rubber components for enhanced corrosion resistance
All-weather sealed rubber components are inserted into the middle beam in a wedge configuration to provide a long-lasting watertight seal that protects the understructure from corrosion caused by rainwater and other contaminants and, in very cold climates, prevents icicles from forming. Sealed rubber components are also easy to replace from the road surface above.
